| What is ParentWatchs Internet
viewing service? |
| ParentWatch’s video service enables parents to view live images
of their children at participating child care centers from any computer with Internet access. It’s a great way to
help busy families stay more connected. In addition to our video service, ParentWatch also offers the Community Web Site, parenting information
and online shopping. Parents who log on to the ParentWatch site can see their children learning in their classrooms,
check out weekly lunch menus, read the latest articles on child psychology and even buy a new toy.
|
| How does ParentWatchs Internet viewing service work? |
| ParentWatch subscribers log on to our Web site using their private passwords, click on the link to their childrens rooms and watch their children learning and playing throughout the day. The images they see are being transmitted to the ParentWatch Web site by video cameras installed in their child care centers.
The ParentWatch system uses proprietary, leading-edge technology that is capable of transmitting many images per second, so viewers see a new image every couple of seconds much like a slow-motion film. |
| How safe is ParentWatch? |
| Security is our #1 priority and we have taken strong measures to
secure our Web site. The company's technology experts have designed secure Web sites for some of the
largest banks in New York City. Each parent who subscribes to ParentWatch must be approved by his or her child care centers
director prior to enrollment. The parent then receives a personalized user name and password. No one can access
the video images except for subscribed parents and their approved relatives. Furthermore, a default
log-out will disconnect the service if left idle for over five minutes. |
| Can I view a video demonstration? |
| To see a live working demonstration of ParentWatchs video
service, just click here. Choose Office Cam to see us
at work in the New York City ParentWatch offices, much the same way you would see your children at their child
care centers. |
| How do parents subscribe? |
| If a center already has ParentWatch, parents can simply go to
the ParentWatch Web site and enroll on the secure sign-up page. |
| Can parents refer their childrens centers? |
| If parents would like to refer their childrens centers, they
can go to the ParentWatch Web site and sign up on the secure referral page or they can
the form. |
| How does a child care center qualify for ParentWatch? |
|
A child care center owner or director interested in ParentWatch should call 800.696.2664 to speak with a ParentWatch
Sales representative.
|
| Will ParentWatch work for a center that
doesnt have a computer or Internet access? |
| ParentWatch willl help your center secure a high speed phone line,
computer, and all necessary equipment for our service to operate. Parents and other family members who wish to
use our service require a computer with Internet access. |
| How does ParentWatch change the
appearance of a center? |
| Very little! The cameras appear as small boxes
(roughly a 2 square) on the classroom walls. Each classroom usually has two cameras. All camera cables
are run inside the walls to a central location where the computers are placed. This system also acts as a
demonstration unit for parents. |
| What if I have two children that attend
the center? |
| We do not charge you more for multiple children. You pay for one child, the rest are on us. |
| What do I do if I wish to cancel your service? |
Simply click here and complete the form.
|
| Whats the reaction to ParentWatch? |
| ParentWatch has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm from both parents and child care providers who view the service as a positive way to further meet the needs and demands of todays busy families. Parents now have the capability to connect with their child, regardless of where lifes demands may take them.
Typical of the response from ParentWatch subscribers is this comment:
As a first time user of ParentWatch, I have to tell you how thrilled I am! This is our first child and I think about her all the time
how she is and what shes doing. Im delighted to be able to just click on a mouse a few times and see my daughter playing in her classroom or eating at the table. This is a wonderful service to offer parents. Thank you.
